Recording 385A is from the 1960/61 Christmas & New Year’s Waikiki Class. It is the basis for Chapter 1, “The Transition to Christhood,” in Man Was Not Born to Cry.
PLEASE NOTE: For some unknown reason, the first minute of this recording of this class is missing, but it does appear in the transcript. Joel says,
“Good morning, and a Happy New Year! And because it is New Year’s morning, we can take advantage of this opportunity to speak of the meaning of a New Year from a spiritual standpoint. Calendar-wise, this day starts a new year, but if it remains only a calendar-wise beginning, it has no relationship at all as to what kind of a year it would be for you individually, or for me, or for anyone in this world.“
Joel begins this recording with: “… it has no relationship at all …”
