On Saturday, August 20, 2022, we began study program on the topic “Reality and Illusion.”  We selected six of Joel’s recordings that cover the many aspects of this topic. Here are just some of the questions that were answered over the course of study:

  • What is Reality?
  • What is illusion, or unreality?
  • Where do illusions come from?
  • What part does the mind play in illusion?
  • What does “Nothing is good or evil” mean?
  • What is meant by the “illusory” nature of error?
  • How does the truth of one power nullify illusions?
  • How do reality and illusion apply to spiritual healing?
  • How can we see through appearances and live in the awareness of Reality?

Throughout the lessons, Joel recommends practices that we can use to develop our ability to live in Reality and experience the nothingness of illusion.

Our Approach to Study

In making selections for this series of classes on reality and illusion, we considered many recordings.  We chose six recordings to play in our weekly sessions.  In these classes, Joel focuses directly on the topic.  We also reviewed several classes in which Joel gives excellent presentations about reality and illusion, but only gives them as one of several topics addressed in the class.  We will post the best of these from time to time as “additional study offerings,” so that you will have the opportunity to hear them if you wish.

Once again, with the gracious cooperation of Sue Ropac at The Infinite Way Office, we have obtained permission to post the recordings that we use during our study program.  As in previous study programs, after we hear the recording in a meeting, we will post that recording in the Study Center for ten weeks.  While the recording is posted, you can listen to it any time at your convenience.  Classes posted as “additional offerings for study” will also be available for ten weeks.  We are most grateful to Sue for the permission to post these recordings.

Since we did not follow a specific book for this study program, we suggested chapters on the topic from Joel’s writings for optional reading.  You may also want to do your own exploration in the writings for material on the topic using the Joel Goldsmith Electronic Library Search. If you have never used that tool, we recommend that you read the instructions first in order to get the best results.
